How do I get to Pohnpei?
Visit Pohnpei via United Airline through Guam and Hawaii. For more flight info, please visit www.united.com. The only other way to arrive is by sailing vessel (privately owned).

U.S. citizens may enter Pohnpei state with a U.S. passport or proof of U.S. citizenship (birth certificate). Non US Citizens must have a valid passport from their country of origin with onward air ticket. Plants and animals must be given prior approval before entry. The Official Currency in Pohnpei is US Dollars. Credit cards are widely accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and stores. There are two banks in Pohnpei: Bank of Guam and Bank of FSM. ATM machines are available at the Bank of Guam and Bank of FSM.

English is the official language of the government and of commerce. English is commonly spoken and understood. Pohnpeian is spoken locally.

What to wear:
Travel light. It never gets cold in Pohnpei, so only lightweight clothing should be brought. Attire is very casual and formal wear is considered unnecessary and impractical. Hats, sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended.

Business hours are normally from 8:00am to 5:00 pm Mondays through Fridays. On weekend, most retail outlets are open. Banks and government offices are closed. Restaurants and bars are open until 10:00 pm on weekdays and 1:00 am on weekend for the bars.
